Blog - Week One
The name is Dimity, more commonly known as just Dim. I am in my last session of study doing a Bachelor of Communication & Media Studies. I have interests in gaming, not really computer gaming but platform games and multi-player games on a console. My favourite game at the moment is Super Mario Bros on Nintendo Wii. I could play it for days. Hopefully this session I can use this to my advantage...
Super Mario Bro's!
ReplyDeleteah the nostalgia and the memories. :)
That brings back memories...I wish I hadn't got rid of my original NES system all those years ago :( But I still have an N64 kicking around somewhere. Interesting how games have changed over the years in terms of graphics, sound, plot, playability etc yet their underlying goal of entertainment and enjoyment still remains.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really interesting point. The price, graphic, ideas, sound etc. etc. have all changed so do we still play them for the same reasons? For instance, there is now a HUGE market for competition gaming. I tried to have a look but couldn't find anything on the growth of gamers being linked to the improvement of games but I wonder if they do tie together? Do you think the idea that these games improving e.g becoming more life-like is bringing in more players? Or is everyone still playing for the same reasons?
ReplyDeleteI only just saw this post! I went through a Mario phase in the break because I had nothing better to do. I still prefer the old 64 games, my flatmate even got this 64 controller adaptor for a computer, it's so cool with the emulater thing that we use.
ReplyDeleteHey Dimity! Same here, I'm interested in how the multi player online gaming goes about. It would be great if I can get an insight or basically learn how to play one! Oh wow, Mario, I cant even remember when was the last time I've played Mario! Hope to be reading more on your blog!
ReplyDeleteDimity, I didn't realise you were a keen gamer...
ReplyDeleteDo you ever play Jonah Lomu rugby with your dad? Haha
